Patriots Equal Longest Victory Run Since Brady Years with Triumph Against New York Jets

Patriots rookie TreVeyon Henderson in action

First-year player Henderson has tallied five scores during the current campaign

New England tied their top unbeaten stretch since the Tom Brady period as they beat AFC East rivals the Jets by 13 points in professional football

First-year standout TreVeyon Henderson was the standout with three touchdowns as the New England squad secured an eight-game winning streak for the initial occasion since star signal-caller Tom Brady's last year with the team in the 2019 season

Quarterback Maye accumulated 281 yards and a TD, connecting on 25 out of 34 attempts

The triumph bolsters the New England's advantage at the summit of the division as they moved to nine victories against two losses, with the New York at the foot after dropping to two victories and eight defeats

The Jets had scored first at their home field with QB Justin Fields scoring a five-yard TD to cap the New York's first possession

But the home team fought back in the second period as the rookie rushed for two seven-yard touchdowns before the ball carrier caught a pass from Drake Maye at the rear of the endzone midway through the third quarter to push the score to 21 to 7

"It was a key occasion for him rising to the challenge, and it's been great for him to keep gaining experience," the quarterback commented on Henderson. "He wants to be great."

Justin Fields threw to Metchie late in the third quarter to reduce the lead for the Jets but Andy Borregales converted a pair of field goals in the fourth quarter as the Patriots closed out the triumph
